How to set custom invoice numbers

CaseFox® has made it easy to create invoices. Automatic Invoice Generator feature can create thousands of invoices within seconds. This feature is particularly useful if you or your firm needs to create many invoices every month. CaseFox® can help you generate all invoices (even hundreds) within minutes and with just one click. To generate invoices for all your clients/cases (projects) {or select particular client or even a particular case/project} using all previously unbilled-time and expenses, please follow these instructions (for generating an invoice manually in two clicks for a case, see Getting Started paragraph 12 onward):

SETUP AND FORGET AUTOMATED BILLING: CaseFox offers fully automated billing for fixed price items that are billed at selected recurrences. Setup once and CaseFox will complete the circle by automatically generating invoices for these items at selected recurrences, emailing invoices to clients and accepting online payments, recording those payments in your CaseFox account.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For generating valid LEDES format invoices ( for the clients that require LEDES format invoices), please ensure that you have entered data as described in the LEDES Invoice page.

You may enter standard text (e.g., Make check payable to "Law Office Of John Smith") in your clients' details prior to performing the following steps.

Note: All billable and previously unbilled-time and expense entries will automatically be used in generating invoices. Alternatively, you may select a date range and CaseFox® will generate invoices only for the selected date range.

1. Click on "Settings/Tools/Reports" (upper right corner).
2. Click on "Bulk Generate Invoices" in the left side link panel.

3. On the right hand side window, select Client or case (Project) for which you like to generate invoices. If you like to generate invoices for all clients and all cases, simple click on "Generate Invoice" without selecting any entries in drop-down boxes. You may select a date range if you wish to generate invoices for a selected period. If you leave the date fields blank, invoices will be generated for all unbilled time/expense.

4. Enter Tax Rate, if any (do not enter the % sign). If there are different tax rates for different clients, generate invoices by selecting individual clients.

5. After clicking on "Generate Invoices" button, wait for the "Success" message. Visit the "Clients" tab and then the "Invoices" tab to download/email the newly generated invoices. You may also download these invoices from the Dashboard. Invoices can be emailed in bulk by clicking on the Invoice button on the Dashboard and selecting Email Selected Invoices option.
