Depositions used to last days, but legislation in 1999 changed this rule. According to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure<\/a> and its state equivalents, a deposition cannot last more than 7 consecutive hours. With breaks, however, this can add up to a total of 8-10 hours <\/p>\n\n\n\n
